Bombshell Boxing

48 hour Brandathon - Rebranding Bombshell Boxing

Overview

Brandathon is a weekend-long branding hackathon where hand-picked creative teams consisting of strategists, designers, and copywriters go head-to-head to help a start-up rebrand. We rebranded and redesigned the eCommerce site Wicked Rose.

Background

Wicked Rose (formerly Bombshell Boxing) is a clothing apparel brand that focuses on providing high-quality activewear for women and non-binaries involved in mixed martial arts. What people don't realize is the majority of women practicing Jiu Jitsu, Judo and Muay Thai wear clothing designed for men. Wicked Rose is fixing all of that.

Original Website

Day 1 - Low and Mid-Fidelity Wireframes

I used Figma to brainstorm different ideas on how the homepage and about section layout can be improved.

Mid-Fidelity Wireframes

I received feedback from the mentors and made adjustments. One of the key feedbacks I received was making sure that the layout translates to Shopify since that will be the client's platform.

Day 2 - Final Product

Our team produced a finalized creative strategy, social media pages, and website pages for the home, about, and product.

After the second round of feedback, Christina suggested adding color to the site. I made adjustments by changing the background white, and header and footer navy blue.

Reflection

After presenting our Brandathon deck on Demo night, the judges chose our brand strategy and design as the winners! It was such an incredible experience being one of the creatives. It allowed me to work with other creatives to help solve and rebrand a unique brand that is woman-owned. While it was challenging to complete the deliverables within the tight deadline, it tested my abilities as a designer to think on the fly and experiment and fail quickly. I even surprised myself with how fast I was able to turn around my work. This experience was definitely memorable.
